WARMACHINE – Cryx
Models that I’ve painted from the WARMACHINE Cryx faction.
This Terminus was to be my main contest entry for GenCon 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010. I'll never get him painted so someone else might as well enjoy him. Heavily converted. The sword moved to the right hand (where it belongs), melted bodies with souls (from the epic Iron Lich) rising up, and dragging a hapless Mechanithrall (still separate) to sacrifice to block a ranged attack. He would have been phenomenal had I been able to complete him. Sold to a good home.

My original Iron Lich Asphyious. Completed in 2003.

The beginnings of an Iron Lich Asphyxious conversion. The lower half of a Skarlock has replaced the weedy skirt of the Lich and the head has been replaced with the epic version. Model pinned to base and prepped for brass rod conversion on spear. The spear is entirely missing as I had planned on scratch-building a suitable replacement. Model sold as-is.
Sold!

The beginnings of my Lich Lord Asphyxious conversion. The spear has been brass rodded and the arm & stacks have been pinned on. The model is pinned to the base. The head and "souls" are missing. A great start to a unique E-Lich. Model sold as-is.

A conversion of the "epic" version of Skarre into the "prime" version of Skarre. I love Werner Klocke sculpts and this one is no exception. The original stance is a bit funky, but not unmanageable. Conversion on commission, late 2009.

This Slayer was painted on commission for Privateer Press for No Quarter magazine - issue #3. It has since been sold to a private collector.
I was happy with the contrast between all of the purple and the bone trim.

A converted Seether Helljack. I wanted to replicate the beautiful artwork by Brian Snoddy that shows him leaping over an obstacle. The stock sculpt just looks like a Slayer with more spiky bits stuck on to me. As can be seen from the raw photos I robbed bits & pieces from other models that were already primed. Can't deny the converting bug when it strikes.

A stock Seether Helljack. Painted to a tabletop standard in my push to field a Fully Painted army at GenCon Indy 2006.
Sold to a private collector.

A converted Reaper Helljack. The addition of the Seether spikes made an interesting profile. This conversion was done well before Privateer started their bits service. In fact, a picture of this Reaper was used in Privateer's first advertisements for their bits service.
Sold to a private collector.

A Reaper Helljack. This piece was painted very early on in my foray into Warmachine. I wanted to paint more scaled warjacks and tried purple on this one. Overall I think it came out very well and creates a very unique look.
Sold to a private collector.

A Leviathan Helljack. Completely assembled and pinned at all joints. The base is designed to look like he's coming up out of water or a swamp. Primed black and ready to paint.

My infamous "leaping" Stalker from my BrushThralls days. An article can be found about his conversion here on the site.

This Stalker was painted on commission for the collector who bought the NQ Slayer. He wanted it to match the scheme as purple was the dominant color in his force.

Parts of my original Cryx army. The red scaled ones were my very first Deathrippers and the green scaled ones came later.

Cryx Revenant Pirate Crew, painted on commission for the collector who bought the NQ Slayer. He wanted it to match the scheme as purple was the dominant color in his force.
The spec was "Tabletop Quality". I deliberately kept the palette to a minimum.

A converted and primed Bane Lord Tartarus. This model was intended to be a contest entry so a lot of extra attention has gone into the conversion. The model now wields the axe 1-handed and his robe flows into the base to reflect his ethereal nature. the missing hand was replaced with one from a Skorne warlock.
SOLD

Cryx Bloat Thrall. Minor conversion - removed "goo" from gun, supported from bottom rather than legs, minor "ick" added. Built on commission August 2009.

A mildly converted and mostly painted Bloat Thrall. The skin was painted for a tutorial on BrushThralls.com. Further additions were made at GenCon Indy 2006 as I tested and demonstrated P3 paints in the Privateer booth. Sold in 2009.

This Skarlock was painted on commission for the collector who bought the NQ Slayer. He wanted it to match the scheme as purple was the dominant color in his force.
This was an early attempt at Object Source Lighting. Not too bad for an early piece.

A minor conversion to a Machine Wraith. The bottom has been extended and bits added here & there to the "robe". This piece was entered into the painting competition at GenCon Indy 2005. It made first cut in the main competition and was awarded Honorable Mention in the manufacturer awards (Privateer). That was the last year before Privateer started their own painting comp. Not bad for a rookie entry.
Sold to a private collector.

A pair of "stock" Necrotechs. Completed in 2003.

A pair of converted and mostly painted Necrotechs. These are old pieces of mine, dating back to 2003 when they were the only solos available. Not my best work obviously, but they were creative pieces and have unique character to them.
