Tactical Unit 1
As opposed to my Punishing Angels project, I’m going to be all about speed and cost on this army. It’s for my 11 year old son Mason (prime GW target market) and as such I don’t want to invest a whole lot of time and money into it. I’m basing the majority of it on the contents of the Assault on Black Reach set. Cheap & easy Tacticals. Just what I need.
Mason has changed his mind about beakie helmets. He now loves them. Go figure. The first stop was to dress up the Sergeant a little bit. I lopped off the head and swapped it with a beakie from a stripped marine (which is hy it looks funky.) Then I decided that he was going to have a power weapon rather than a chainsword, so off came the pointy arm and on went the power maul arm from the Dark Angels Veteran sprue. I’m not using them, and they’re close to Thunder Hammers so it works. He also likes the big back banners (which I loathe) so the little post on the pack was swapped for a real banner.
He needs some Sally dress but I’ll get to that once everything is built. This will be build first, play now, finish later.
Here’s the entire squad. The rest are stock AoBR (except the bases of course.)
