Project: Ork Warboss in Mega Armor – On Hold

More Dakka!

More dakka I say! It’s not often that I get on a roll like this, both modeling and publishing. Take advantage while you can.

To solve the weedy shoot problem I considered a number of options. Assault Cannons, Auotcannons, Tau Crisis Suit weapons. Nothing seemed to feel proppa. Then I pulled out the current Big Shootas. The barrels looked good, a proppa length for such a big boss and I could stack two of them to pair up with the current drm feeds on the arm. Easy as pie. A Tau Flamer tacked on for more dakka / a targeting device / gubbins and it’s almost ready to rock. I need to add banding & bolts to hold it all together, but the basic concept is there.

I also realized that I had forgotten the key feature of Red Jaw: his jaw. My fluff has him losing his lower jaw in a wreck/explosion/battle and it’s been replaced by an iron gob which is painted red. The Biker boss version has it, this one needed to match. A bit of snipping & filing later and he’s got his gob. A bit visually redundant in the Mega Armor maybe, but a key feature for the character.
